Hebrew Illuminations Calendar: L'Chaim - To Life! Reviews
A beautiful Calendar. Great Artwork. I would recommend it as a lovely gift for the New Year. Thank You Adam Rhine.
This is second year I brought this calendar. I also bought one for a Jewish friend as a gift for Rosh Hashanah. She placed it in a prominent place in her kitchen ( so did I) where it was easy to use in her daily life both secular and religious.I really like its lack of clutter and clarity of design. it has lovely geometric designs for each month, lists the Sabbath candle lighting times for various time zones across the country, gives a short prayer or lesson for each month, and includes secular events along with Jewish religious events throughout the year. I have found it to be a lovely way to learn about the Jewish Feasts and religious traditions.
Illustrations are top notch, pleasing to the eye and I have been saving previous years illustrations which are great for framing and for gifts...Can put the text data column on the back of the frames as part of your gift...using the month of their birth makes for a great and inexpensive B'day present! My calendar hangs in a special place on my kitchen wall where guests can see it easily, which promotes questions and discussion. It is large enough to keep dates and notes in each box and clearly notes all basic data regarding Jewish holidays, torah readings, new moons etc. What I'd love to see happen is a monthly calendar that uses the new moon as the first date of the month with a new page for each biblical month and makes the Gregorian calendar the lower priority rather than the other way around as is. Some of us, adhere to the lunar calendar for marking time and seasons and Holy convocatios which matches the origins perfectly! It would be great to have that as the standard for Hebrew Calendars.
Great size for a calendar. Artwork is beautiful and a nice change from the normal scenery on most calendars. Loaded with information and holiday dates both religious and secular. Sabbath candle lighting times and Parashat readings also given. Love it!
Beautiful Artwork. I am trying to learn more about my Hebrew roots being a Christian. This has the Hebrew months and the Gregorian regular calendar. The Sabbath candle lighting times for many time zones. The only thing I don't like is some of the information shared on the left side like October talks about people having animal spirits. These are from writings that are not of the Bible and not what God says. I am keeping the calander I simply put a piece of blue duct tape over it and told God I don't accept that. The quality of paper is very nice. Some have said Christmas aand Easter are not on it. This calander is more to connect you to Hebrew roots or for Jewish people. It would be offensive to Jewish people having those on here. If you buy a Jewish calander that is what you get. Just wanted to give you a heads up if that will bother you.
Beautiful. It posts both western and Jewish calendar, holidays, Scriptures, Sabbath candle lighting times. Some discriptions. Very colorful. Helps those are not Jewish who want to be obedient and honor God's Feasts and Holy Days.
